Chow Down 2025 Canceled
To our community, supporters, and food truck family:
After much consideration and with heavy hearts, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Chow Down event.
Over the past month, we’ve faced challenges, particularly regarding requirements placed on out-of-town food trucks. Despite our efforts to advocate for clearer, more reasonable policies, we continued to lose vendors due to the financial and logistical burdens they faced, including inspections, travel costs, and costly equipment not required in their home jurisdictions.
We understand how disappointing this is for our community, vendors, and attendees who look forward to this event each year. Chow Down has always been about bringing people together, celebrating small businesses, and showcasing amazing cultural food from near and far. We simply can't move forward knowing we’d be offering less than what our community deserves, or putting our vendors in a position to lose money just for trying to show up.
This was not a decision we made lightly. We hope to use this moment to spark real conversations with city officials about creating a more business-friendly and inclusive approach to welcoming visiting vendors in Rockford.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
